Where Design & Affordability Meet

About Us

Arohanui Tiny Homes Ltd. was born in 2021 (aroha nui = deep affection) with a passion to design affordable, stylish and innovative tiny homes on wheels - Tiny Homes, Big on Love. We aim to meet the need of people, especially in the Tasman / Nelson regions.

We are also partners with the not-for-profit organisation Habitat for Humanity. Together, we help low to mid-income whanau achieve home ownership. Our current project is the building of four new homes in Blenheim, two of them for disabled people.

We share the same goals as Habitat for Humanity, and aim to provide, healthy, comfortable and affordable housing solutions. We help people who wish to:

  • Own their own home (with little or no debt, mortgage or rent)
  • Derive an additional income via tiny house rentals or land leasing.
  • Down-size their lives and live a more affordable, sustainable and simple lifestyle, closer to nature.
  • Land share with other like-minded people and build tiny house communities
  • Live off-grid independently of traditional utilities like water and electricity
  • House their family members (grand children, children, parents)
  •

5 Reasons To Choose Us

Affordability

Affordability is a major concern in New Zealand, where there is an ongoing housing crisis and rental crisis.

Many people struggle to find affordable and suitable housing, and high mortgage interest rates make it even harder to own a home.

Our tiny houses offer an affordable and practical solution to this problem, providing a comfortable and functional living space at a fraction of the cost of a traditional home.

By embracing the tiny house movement, you can break free from the cycle of high rent and mortgage payments and take control of your housing and financial futures.

Innovate & Stylish Design

We pride ourselves offering unique features that are not commonly found on other tiny home designs, such as;

  • slide-out sections and folding decks that maximise living space and enhance outdoor living;
  • our Golden Bay model is clad with sleek and durable aluminium cladding;
  • walk-in-wardrobe (Little Giant)
  • self-contained options mean you can enjoy off-grid living with ease;
  • bedroom skylights in our Golden Bay offer you natural light and sky gazing.

These features making our homes truly unique and modern, with advantages for everyday life.

Quality Materials

Our tiny homes on wheels are built on a light steel frame, providing strength and durability while also being lightweight and easier to transport.

We use German brand made double glazed doors and windows, which are known for their exceptional quality and energy efficiency.

To ensure the safety of you and your tiny house on the road, we install German AL-KO breaks on our trailers.

And for a beautiful and sustainable interior finish, we use Nordic pine panelling.

We believe that by using high quality materials, we can ensure that our tiny homes are not only beautiful and functional but also long-lasting and backed by our 3-year warranty.

Light Steel Frame

One of the major benefits of using a light steel frame for tiny home construction is its durability and strength.

Unlike wood frames, steel does not warp, shrink, or split over time, making it a long-lasting option for your tiny home.

The steel frame is also lightweight and easy to assemble, which can help reduce construction time and labor costs.

Additionally, steel is a sustainable building material, as it can be recycled and reused, making it an eco-friendly choice for those who are conscious of their environmental impact.

With a light steel frame, you can have peace of mind knowing that your tiny home is sturdy, reliable, and built to last.

Land Sharing

We know that not everyone who can afford a tiny home has the land to put it on. A suitable location to park your tiny home on wheels can be a challenge.

That's why we are working with local Tasman & Nelson landowners to provide our clients with land share solutions.

We can connect you with landowners who are willing to lease land for your tiny home.

This offers an affordable and flexible solution for those who want to live in their own tiny home but may not have the means to purchase or own land.
